Application for Membership Information

** It is very important that you understand that this is an opportunity for membership only, not a guarantee of a job. **

Pre-Qualifying Applications are only reviewed when Local 43 needs to add members for current jobs or future work. Therefore, to maintain current information, we only hold an application on file for six months. If you have not been contacted during the six months after submitting an application, you will need to resubmit and updated application for out file.

We are looking to place individuals who are motivated in turning a job into a career.

New Membership Application Pre-Qualifications

  • Must have and show proof of a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening test on a regular basis (including, but not limited to, a cheek swab test).
  • Must have a reliable phone number. Applicants with inactive phone numbers will no longer be considered.

All applications will be sent to Iowa Laborers’ Education & Training Program to determine initial classification.

Apprentice Level (Less than 4000 HRS construction laboring experience): Pre-qualified applicants may be contacted by the Apprenticeship Program to schedule Skill Assessment testing.

Journeyman Level: Pre-qualified applicants may be selected by the Hall for work assignments on a probationary basis, but not to exceed 500 hours.
